Volume of operations through POS-terminals decreases by 28% in Azerbaijan

In August of the current year, 643 thousand transactions in the size of AZN 34 mln through POS-terminals were operated.

The volume of the transactions increased by 6 mln manats, or by 21.4%, and the number of them did by 12.2% in comparison with the previous month, APA-Economics reports citing Azerbaijan Central Bank (ACB).

Compared to January of the current year, the number of transactions went up by 23.4%, while its size increased by 4 mln manats or by 13.3%. In August of this year, the size of the transactions decreased by 5 mln manats or by 12.8%, whilst its number rose by 79.6% than in that of the previous one.

In January-August, 3,901 mln transactions in value to 219 mln manats through POS-terminals were operated inside the country.

During previous year, the size of these transactions declined by 86 mln manats or by 28.2%, while its number increased by 67%.
