Feyenoord announced on Monday evening that a second player in the selection has been tested positive for the coronavirus, APA reports citing News 1.

The Rotterdammers do not disclose who it is.

The infected player tested negative for the COVID-19 virus on Friday. According to club doctor Casper van Eijk, an analysis of the test results showed that he was not contagious in the practice match against Sparta Rotterdam (3-0 win) on Sunday.

Last Saturday, Feyenoord also reported a corona infection within the selection. That player has been in home isolation since Friday. According to Feyenoord, it is almost certain that this second corona infection is the result of contact with that player.

The players and technical staff of the team from Rotterdam will be tested again on Friday in the run-up to the exhibition game against FC Twente. That friendly game is scheduled for Sunday at 2.30 p.m. in De Kuip.
