Discussions in video format held in Azerbaijani Parliament regarding Armenia’s provocation against Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity

The International relations and inter-parliamentary contacts committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament has held discussions regarding Armenia’s provocation against Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity in recent days, the attacks and pressures committed against Azerbaijanis living in the world countries, the Press and public relations department of the Azerbaijani Parliament told APA.

During the discussion in video format, the committee chairman Samad Seyidov strictly condemned the attempt of the units of the Armenian armed forces to launch an attack using the artillery fire and to capture our positions on the site of Tovuz region of Azerbaijan-Armenia state border by resorting to provocation once again.

He said the attacks made by Armenians on the Azerbaijanis staging protest in a number of countries against Armenia’s provocation, such acts of vandalism are the steps aimed at violation of such fundamental human rights as freedom of speech and freedom of gathering.

During the discussions, the committee members said the committing of various acts of vandalism against diplomatic missions of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as against our compatriots by the numerous members of the Armenian community, the radical representatives of the Armenian lobby, the members of the Dashnaksutyun Party, as well as the ideological supporters and followers of ASALA recognized as a terrorist group on the international arena on July 21 and 22 is the bright example of the Armenian feature.

During the discussions, the committee members said the attack made by the outnumbering Armenians on the little number of the Azerbaijanis living in Los Angeles City of California state of the USA and gathered in order to stage a peaceful protest, the occurrence of similar incidents also in Brussels City of Belgium, such nationalist manifestations are the sources of serious threat for communities of those countries. It was noted that the taking of effective measures is inevitable for prevention of the attacks directed against peaceful demonstrators.

Besides, it was noted that the provocations of the Armenian Diaspora bear a purposeful character. These steps pursue a goal of undermining Azerbaijan’s prestige and the large-scale projects implemented by it, to cast shadow on the country’s rightful stance and activity and to create negative opinion against Azerbaijan worldwide.

In the end, the International relations and inter-parliamentary contacts committee called on the law enforcement agencies of the countries where the acts of vandalism occurred to take serious steps in regard to this issue, to take relevant measures for detaining and bringing to responsibility of the provocative elements, prevention of repeated occurrence of such cases and provision of security of our compatriots.
