"The rule of law, as well as strong traditions in Azerbaijan, serve the development of religious relations", said Siyavush Novruzov, chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Public Associations and Religious Organizations, ONA reports.

He said that religion is the only right that is regulated both naturally and by the constitution: “Freedom of religion is in the first place among human rights. Because any step against religious freedom will lead to the violation of other human rights. Not only in Azerbaijan, but also beyond its borders - in Western and Eastern Europe, mosques, synagogues, churches are being repaired at the same level and open to visitors. This issue is in the center of immediate attention of the head of the country and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. ”

S. Novruzov noted that an unjust approach to any issue affects many things: “Today we are witnessing that various countries are taking certain steps to fulfill their interests. Unfortunately, in Armenia, religion itself serves occupation policy, and religious leaders support such behavior. Instead of condemning and preventing such actions, religious leaders justify them and encourage the continuation of the occupation policy. Despite repeated appeals to religious leaders of Armenia in connection with the return of the bodies of our martyrs, they refused to respond to this in any way.”
