Mayor of Washington DC signs Declaration on 101st anniversary Azerbaijan Democratic Republic

Myuriel Bouzer, Mayor of Washington, DC has signed a Declaration on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the establishment of the Democratic People's Republic of Azerbaijan, Embassy of Azerbaijan in the United States told APA.

The Declaration notes that on May 28, 1918, the first secular Parliamentary Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) in the Muslim East was established and other democratic states in the world, including the United States, have recognized ADR.

"The current ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the United States Elin Suleymanov and other two former ambassadors demonstrated activity and great interest is paid in Washington," the document says.

İt's noted that the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the United States is partnering with the Washington city and contributes to the diversity of education and culture.

Mayor Bouzer emphasized in the signed Declaration that millions of Azerbaijanis living in the world and the tens of thousands of Azerbaijanis living in the United States at the 101st anniversary of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan have been celebrated May 28 as National Day and proclaimed the National Day of Azerbaijan in Washington.
