“Employees of the embassy should follow all safety protocols. These protocols urge to refrain from creating any contact or confrontation in such attacks. 3 of our diplomats in London stood up to a large crowd without leaving the embassy and protected important documents and did not leave the embassy for about an hour,” said the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Elin Suleymanov in his interview with APA’s Britain bureau.

“That is, they behaved according to the security protocol. It is also great work. The diplomats were able to leave the building only as a result of the special police operation. Our employees experienced great stress. No diplomat should experience such stress. They are civilians, I am actually very glad that they were not injured. As an ambassador, the main priority is that our diplomatic staff should not suffer any injury,” the ambassador said.

According to the ambassador, this was also the priority of Rashad Vahabzadeh, the temporary attorney of affairs, they fully behaved in accordance with the rules, and security protocol:

"It is unacceptable that our staff was subjected to such an attack. I am very concerned that such an incident has happened. Our diplomat is also a representative of our people and a citizen. They could almost be victims of a terrorist act. If a diplomat of Azerbaijan was taken hostage, something happened to him, then it would be a deeper problem.

The perpetrators of such an attack are those who carry feelings of enmity towards Azerbaijan, and the main blame should be directed at them. Our diplomats, who are under great pressure and stress, should not be targeted, those who conducted this barbaric attack must be targeted."
