“During my diplomatic service period, I was invited to events on victory days of other countries. I was always thinking would there be such a Victory in our history too?” said Assistant to Azerbaijani President Hikmat Hajiyev at the conference on 44 day Victory road, APA reports.

H. Hajiyev noted that there is already such a Victory day in Azerbaijan’s history: “Participating as a representative of the defeated country at the events abroad is very difficult. Now, events on Victory day are organized in our diplomatic missions abroad. We express gratitude to Supreme Commander-in-Chief!”

Assistant to Azerbaijani President stated that there is a problem in the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and this attitude should change.

“Peace agreement should be signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the countries should recognize each-others territorial integrity and sovereignty,” stressed H. Hajiyev.

According to the Assistant to the President, claims raised by Armenia against Azerbaijan show that Armenia does not recognize Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity: “This should be ended. Armenia should abdicate from claims to Azerbaijani territories.”
