Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and Uruguay held next political consultations-PHOTO

The next (second) political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay were held on May 11, 2022, in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, the press service of Azerbaijani MFA told APA.

The delegations were led by Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov and Uruguay's Deputy Foreign Minister Carolina Ache Batlle.

The current state of bilateral relations, as well as the expansion of cooperation in political, economic, agricultural, transport, energy and humanitarian spheres were discussed during the political consultations.

Deputy Minister E.Mammadov briefed the other side on the new political realities in the region after the Great Patriotic War, the measures taken by Azerbaijan and large-scale projects on the restoration and construction work in our liberated territories, stressed the importance of international transport corridors passing through the territory of Azerbaijan in terms of increasing trade relations between the Far East, Central Asia and Europe.

The parties also exchanged views on the development of prospects for cooperation within regional and international organizations.

On the same day, Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov met with members of the Uruguay-Azerbaijan friendship group of the Foreign Relations Commission of the House of Representatives of the Uruguayan Parliament.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the expansion of inter-parliamentary relations, the development of bilateral cooperation, the ongoing processes in the South Caucasus region, and other issues of mutual interest.
