"Today, Turkiye has become a country that trusts friends and fears enemies," said Cahit Bagci, Ambassador of Turkiye to Azerbaijan in his speech at the event dedicated to the Victory Day, APA reports.
The diplomat read the congratulatory message of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
He said that in 1922 Turkiye completed its struggle with an indisputable victory:
“When there was a choice between slavery and freedom, the people showed what they could sacrifice for their freedom. Our nation marched to martyrdom and gained its freedom. Today, with the strength we have received from the past, we are advancing with sure steps on the path to a clear and bright future," the ambassador emphasized.
The Turkish diplomat said that today his country is taking its rightful place by playing a responsible role in solving regional problems.
"Turkiye continuously carries out its fight against terrorism. Azerbaijan knows the meaning of victory best. The 44-day Patriotic War ended with victory, and Turkiye provided moral and diplomatic support to its brother in this struggle. Turkiye has become a reliable country, our country is a reliable partner. We are making serious efforts for global peace. We have active diplomatic affairs in Syria, Libya, the South Caucasus, and the Aegean region. We shall keep moving forward in the direction of a bright future with the inspiration that comes from our victories."
