"We support the constructive role of any country in achieving peace and reconciliation in the region. Türkiye is also doing it," said US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lee Litzenberger at a briefing, APA reports.

He reminded us that Türkiye and Armenia have already started talks on the normalization of relations: “We welcome and support it. We would like to see faster progress. And we would like this to happen between Azerbaijan and Armenia as well. "Türkiye is a NATO ally and we are confident with Turkey's contacts in different regions."

The US ambassador also touched on Türkiye's concerns over Sweden's and Finland's NATO membership. The ambassador noted that the way to eliminate this disagreement is through dialogue and communication between the parties: "These three countries have already started a dialogue and are discussing discontents. I think this is the best way to make progress.

I have served in NATO and I know how the negotiations went. It is normal for countries to discuss disagreements, but a key element in NATO is for all countries to reach a consensus on important issues. I am confident that a consensus will be reached on this issue as well. "
