Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General's Office : 7 servicemen and 1 resident of Barda were arrested

On July 21, a criminal group consisting of military servicemen of the State Border Service and others were exposed while trying to cross the border with more than 90 kg of narcotics, APA reports citing the Prosecutor General's Office.

It was determined with the many conducted investigative acts that military servicemen of SBS Tural Osmanov, Shamil Abbasov, Habil Najafov, Kamran Jafarov, Nurlan Gasimov, Seymour Azadkhanzade, Ilkin Gasimzade, and others using their duty positions united with civilian Hikmat Khalili and others in a group of people who conspired in advance to secretly smuggle and sell a large number of narcotic drugs, psychotropic and powerful substances from the Islamic Republic of Iran for the purpose of sale.

In accordance with the agreed plan, 4 of the military servicemen were detained by the 'Pusqu" (ambush) border warrant of SBS while taking the means from the hiding place on July 21, at around 8 p.m

94.3 kg of narcotic drugs (87.7 kg of marijuana, 7.6 kg of heroin, "methadone-40" 198 1980 tablets with 10 in each), psychotropic substance (400 grams of methamphetamine), and a powerful substance ("pregabalin -150” 831 convolutes 12465 pills each containing 15 pieces) were detected and taken away.

Arrest warrant was issued about the military servicemen whose names were mentioned and Hikmat Khalili in accordance with the decision of the Baku Military Court.

Currently, complex investigative-operational measures are underway.
