Fire limited in high mountainous area in Zagatala-PHOTO-UPDATED

The fire that broke out in the high mountainous area in Zagatala was limited, APA’s northern bureau reports.

The fire that started in the afternoon today in the mountainous forest area with difficult relief in the part of the southern foothills of the Great Caucasus mountain range, passing through the territory of the Yukhari Tala village of the Zagatala district, was limited in the evening.

The fire covered a total area of 10 hectares. Bushes, dry grass, hazel, dried trees and stumps burned in the area. At present, fire extinguishing, cooling and exploration works are being carried out in the area.

Notably, in order to put out the fire, the equipment of the Zagatala district State Fire Protection Unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) and about 70 personnel, 2 helicopters, employees of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, and local residents were involved to the area.

A fire has broken out in a mountainous area with a difficult landscape nearby Ashaghi Tala village of Zagatala, Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) told APA.

112 Call Center of the Ministry received information about the fire, relevant forces, and equipment, as well as two helicopters of the Ministry have been involved in the extinguishing works.
