Azerbaijan and Georgia have commenced the negotiations on starting the united tariffs for cargo transportation, said the Deputy Minister of Economy and Steady Progress of Georgia Akaki Sagirashvili, APA Georgian Bureau reports.

According to him, preparations have already begun on the establishment of the working group regarding the issue.

“The most important matter to be discussed is transportation and logistics. We have held bilateral and multilateral meetings with the region’s countries. We focused on deepening ties among countries in our corridor, including Bulgaria, Ukraine, Iran, and Turkey. We agreed to form a working group for this purpose yesterday. Tariff policy will also be reviewed. An amendment can be asked. We will soon begin exploring ferries and freight transportation. We will be able to work with our partners to develop our future plans to increase the competitiveness of the corridor and to transport some of our goods to our corridor, based on this research, said A.
