Azerbaijan-Iran joint trade gate to be launched

“A joint trade gate will be launched between Azerbaijan and Iran in order to reduce trade expenditures in Astara border-crossing point”, said the head of Astara Customs Administration Rasul Umidi, APA’s Tehran bureau reports.

According to him, 70% of the works, necessary for the establishment of joint trade gate infrastructure, has been completed. The gate will be put into operation in a year.

Rasul Umidi stated Iran has become a member of Eurasian Economic Union and Astara border-crossing point will have a special role in free trade of Iran with member states.

He also said that the amount of products exported from the beginning of the current year until now through Astara railway has increased by 30% in comparison with the corresponding period of the previous year.
