As of January 1, 2018, number of workers in Azerbaijan’s economy made up 1,521,300, including 880,100 workers in state sector, 641,200 in non-state sector.
According to the State Statistical Committee, 21.9% hired workers in were in education, 19.2% in trade; repair of transport facilities, 12.9% in industry, 8.6% in medical and social service for population, 6.6% in construction, 4.6% in transport and storehouse, 3.4% in professional, scientific and technical activity, 3.2% in agriculture, forestry and fishery, 1.6% in finance and insurance and 10.9% in other spheres.
Average monthly salary of the wageworkers rose 5.7% to AZN 528.2.
