“It is already 7th day that the aggressor Armenia continues firing rockets and artillery against the Azerbaijani civilian population,” the chairman of Azerbaijani Community of Nagorno Garabagh region of Azerbaijan Tural Ganjaliyev said at today’s press conference.
According to him, it once again shows that Armenians want to continue occupation: “In response to the Armenian aggression and these crimes committed by the Armenian military-political leadership against our country, we stated that we had waited for the settlement of the conflict for 30 years. However, they did not come to peace, and even made new statements about the seizure of new territories.
Article 9 of our Constitution refers to the armed forces. Our Armed Forces are currently conducting operations against the occupants of our lands and trying to bring back the expelled people. We as members and representatives of the Community, support the counter-offensive operations of our Armed Forces.”
Tural Ganjaliyev appealed to Armenian residents living in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan.
He said that in no case Azerbaijani Armed Forces do not use any weapons against the civilians living there: “On the contrary, it protects all the principles of international law. I call on Armenian residents living there, not to take a weapon against Azerbaijani Armed Forces. Let them know that Azerbaijani Armed Forces by the operations conducted today, is both liberating the lands of the Republic of Azerbaijan from the occupation, and restore the rights of the population who expelled from there. The Armenian population living there should understand it. After these operations, ethnic minorities living there will gain the right to live together with Azerbaijanis returning to the region. The main purpose of the operations carried out by our Army is to restore the violated rights of hundred thousands of Azerbaijanis.
