Russia’s State Duma: Zatulin doesn’t have authority to comment on paratroop operation in Garabagh

“The use of Russia’s Armed Forces in Nagorno Garabagh is not planned, such a position has been reconciled with Russia’s Defense Ministry, the measures taken in order to obtain positive result in solution of the conflict are sufficient”, said first deputy chairman of the State Duma (lower chamber of the Russian parliament) Andrey Krasov when commenting on the statement of his colleague, deputy Konstantin Zatulin saying “I don’t rule out Russia’s paratroop operation in Nagorno Garabagh, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

"Konstantin Zatulin didn’t have authority to make this statement. This statement of him has nothing in common with the official position of the State Duma and the defense committee of the Duma. As of now, the use of the Russian Armed Forces in the Nagorno Garabagh conflict region is not planned. This position has been reconciled with Russia’s Defense Ministry. The official position of the State Duma can be expressed only by its chairman or deputy chairmen acting by instruction of chairman, or by the relevant committee of the duma”, A. Krasov stressed.
