Despite the numerous war crimes committed by Armenia against Azerbaijan, the UN Security Council has not yet adopted resolutions on the organization of military tribunals, Hikmat Hajiyev, spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry said at a press conference on Wednesday, APA reports.
“Azerbaijan held consultations at various levels on this issue. Relevant resolutions should be adopted in order to organize military tribunals if necessary,” said Hajiyev, accusing Armenia of ignoring the jurisdiction of international courts.
He noted that Armenia and members of its military and political leadership are directly responsible for the war crimes committed against Azerbaijan.
“Armenia must show civil treatment and punish these persons. If Armenia talks about human rights, then it should explain its war crimes against Azerbaijan,” he added.
