Today, a regular meeting has been held at the Public Health and Reforms Center (PHRC) of the Health Ministry in regard to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection spread worldwide, the Ministry of Health told APA.
The works done by the Health Ministry in order to implement the purposeful prophylaxis measures in this area in our country were discussed at the meeting. The issues of further expansion of the measures implemented in regard to raising medical awareness of people about coronavirus including other flu infections were discussed.
The PHRC director Gahraman Hagverdiyev assigned special tasks to the working group for delivery to people of the correct information about the virus and for ensuring access to the information for every stratum of the population. He noted that the outstanding works should be implemented rapidly and should comply with the international standards. At the same time it was stressed that the relevant awareness-raising materials covering the methods of prevention and protection from the coronavirus disease have been developed and published by the PHRC based on the recommendations of the World Health Organization. The distribution of the awareness-raising materials to the education institutions, departments and organizations and their placement in social networks have been envisaged.
In order to ensure access to the materials, it has been decided to create separate database about coronavirus at the PHRC’s Health portal (http://www.saglamliq.isim.az/) and to place the awareness-raising materials in that portal.
