Azerbaijan has restricted the import of poultry and poultry products from Iran and Ukraine, the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AFSA) told APA.
According to the information, highly pathogenic avian influenza has been registered in Volnovakha district of Donetsk region of Ukraine, Sarpol Zahab and Kermanshah of Kermanshah province of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dasht Azadegan of Khuzestan province, and Mahabad administrative unit of West Azerbaijan province of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In this regard, taking into consideration of principles of zoning in accordance with the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code (the Terrestrial Code), temporary restriction has been imposed on import of all kind of live poultry and poultry products from Donetsk region of Ukraine, Kermanshah, Khuzistan and West Azerbaijan provinces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
