Hotline established by MES to provide psychological support to citizens received about 550 appeals

“Since April 8 it has been suggested to provide emergency psychological assistance by the psychologists of the ministry through 112 hotline of Ministry of Emergency Situations in order to support our citizens experiencing psychological problems in the current quarantine regime in the country. 12 specially trained psychologists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations work in continiously operating telephone line, the press service of MES told APA.

The ministry said that Hotline have received about 550 appeals regarding psychological assistance from Baku and various regions of the republic during its 15 days operation. The appeals mostly received from people who experience fear to get infected with coronavirus, worried about their elderly parents, who are stressed, people who are in a state of anxiety. Among the applicants, there are people who are used to working life and currently have difficulty in properly and efficiently distributing their daily routine.

The main purpose in organizing psychological assistance is to stand by people who are in a difficult situation, not leaving them alone with their psychological problems, support them morally , to help them adapt to quarantine regime.
