Those who use tobacco products are many times more likely to be infected with the coronavirus than non-smokers, according to a statement of TABIB, APA reports.

According to the statement, the most serious damage to the human brain of smoking is that it increases the risk of stroke. A stroke is a medical condition in which poor blood flow to the brain results in cell death.

Smokers may also already have lung disease or reduced lung capacity which would greatly increase the risk of serious illnesses. These include lung cancer, chronic bronchitis, asthma, various infections, and even allergic diseases.

“Long-term use of tobacco products increases having the risk of heart disease and stroke by 2-4 times.

Cigarette smoking increases the secretion of gastric acid and facilitates the development of stomach ulcers and stomach cancer. Smokers are likely having stomach and intestine cancer two times more than non-smokers.

Smokers are twice as likely to lose their eyesight in comparison to non-smokers. The reason for this is that the smoke from tobacco has a negative effect on the eyes and there is a danger of clogging the blood vessels flow to the eyes,” the statement reads.
