WHO: Vaccination is conducted in 52 countries at present

“The vaccination against coronavirus have started since early December in the world” the head World Health Organization (WHO) in Azerbaijan Hande Harmanci told APA.

She noted that these are 7 different vaccines: “The vaccination has started in 52 countries. One type of it is used in 41 countries and two different vaccines in 11 countries. The most used vaccine so far is the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine applied in 44 countries. Moderna vaccine is used in 6 countries, Sinopharm in 4 countries, Sputnik V in 3 countries, CoronoVac in 3 countries, and Kovaksin and Covishield vaccines in 1 country’.

According to her, WHO has just approved Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine so far: “The results of investigations regarding the Moderna, Covishield, and Sinopharm vaccine will be announced soon” said H. Harmanci.
