"Nobody knows how long the pandemic will last. But when the new virus emerges, the quicker it goes round the world, the sooner the people will develop immunity against it", said Hande Harmanci, head of the group of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) representatives in Azerbaijan at the presentation of the REACT-C19 project, APA reports.

She said we are facing an unknown disease: "My personal opinion is that we will not be able to get rid of this disease earlier than one year. But this does not mean that everybody will stay at home during one year, simply, this disease will not go away from the agenda. It will stay on agenda while its scope will gradually decrease. In case of COVID-19 we see that our preparations were right. Now using the respirators, we comply with hygiene better, but it is not clear how long this situation will last. Currently, this disease exists in places with both cold and warm climate".
