Virus has been revealed in 169 of 5809 people who voluntarily donated blood in Ashura day in order to help patients in need of blood during campaign organized with initiatives of Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan and the Caucasus Muslims Office, APA reports.
5809 people donated blood in voluntary campaign. 2 614.1 l of blood have been donated from them.
Virus has been found in just 169 people during examination of 4 infectious diseases, conducted in Central Blood Bank. HIV virus has not been revealed, HBsAg (hepatitis B virus) revealed in 44 people, HCV (hepatitis B virus) in 76 people, and Syphilis in 49 people.
Examples, in which virus was found, have been removed from use and rendered harmless in accordance with relevant rules.
