Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism will create National Tourism Promotion Bureau in 2017.
This has been envisaged in the “Strategic Road Map for the development of specialized tourism industry in the Republic of Azerbaijan” approved by the presidential decree dated December 6, 2016, APA reports.
As a result of the establishment of the Bureau, added value in the amount of a total of AZN 10m (AZN 5m – direct, AZN 5m – indirect) is predicted to be created in 2020. The number of accommodation in hotels and hotel-type facilities in Baku will be increased from about 0.8 million (for 2015) up to 3.65 million for the year 2020. Tourism calendar will also be created to coordinate all major events.
