Parliamentâ€™s standing commission on natural resources, energy and ecology meets

Meeting of the parliamentâ€™s standing commission on natural resources, energy and ecology was held today, APA reports.
The issue on amending the law â€œIndustrial and domestic wastesâ€ was debated at the meeting. Deputy Chief of the commission Elton Mammadov said that there is a need for Azerbaijan to join the international convention and amend the law with regard to establishing new bodies. The parliamentarians noted that the law was adopted in 1998 and there is a need to conform the protection of environment like other spheres to European standards. The commission members said that the proposed amendments and changes are of great importance for the protection of environment.
The draft law was recommended to the parliamentâ€™s sitting. /APA/
