Belgium has reported its first case of the new variant identified in South Africa, APA reports citing BBC.
Earlier, Marc Van Ranst, a virologist whose lab works closely with Belgium's public health body Sciensano, said Belgium was "currently analysing two suspicious samples". He has now tweeted to say one of those samples is B.1.1.529.
