“We are very grateful to Azerbaijan for the fact that a representative delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev is taking part in the conference. This suggests that the conference and its agenda are of practical interest for the fraternal country - Azerbaijan. I am sure that as a result of the event, our countries will form the basis for new mutually beneficial areas of cooperation within the framework of the implementation of the initiatives announced at the plenary session of the Conference.

It is gratifying to note that the visit of the Azerbaijani delegation marked another important event, demonstrating official Baku's support for the global COVAX initiative to ensure fair and equal access to vaccines for all countries. As part of this initiative, the delegation of Azerbaijan delivered 50,000 doses of vaccine against coronavirus infection COVID-19 to Uzbekistan. The Uzbek side is very grateful for this gift to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and other involved state structures. We believe that this is a vivid manifestation of Azerbaijan's solidarity in the fight against the pandemic, a sign of true brotherhood between our states and peoples,” Mr. Ambassador noted.
