"From January to October 31 this year, Azerbaijan delivered more than 14 billion cubic meters of natural gas via this route for 10 months. The gas was delivered to Turkey, Georgia, Italy, Greece, and Bulgaria," President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said in his speech at the opening of VIII Global Baku Forum - "The World after COVID-19", APA reports.
President Aliyev emphasized that almost half of these volumes were used by EU consumers.
"As for the countries where Azerbaijani gas is supplied, there is no gas, no price crisis, no freezing. This shows once again that the Southern Gas Corridor is an important project for energy security and Europe as a whole. Azerbaijan is a responsible producer country. We are not only a country that produces and exports oil, including gas. In this regard, we will continue to play an important role in energy security," Asaid Azerbaijani President.
