297 people committed war crimes against Azerbaijan wanted through Interpol

1182 criminal cases were recorded by prosecutor agencies last year, 296 of them were corruption crimes, said Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev at the wide meeting of the board dedicated to the situation of work done in 2020 and the discussions of tasks ahead, APA reports.

He noted that during the period, the investigation of 61 criminal cases on 90 people regarding corruption crimes were completer by military prosecutor bodies and were sent to military courts accordingly, to consider.

K. Aliyev added that as of January 1, 2021, a total of 297 people have been proven to have committed war and other crimes against the Azerbaijani people in connection with the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, decisions were made to involve them as accused, according to the court decisions, the measure of restraint was chosen, and the relevant documents were sent to the National Central Bureau of Interpol in the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Main Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
