IRCC stated it is in contact with concerned agencies of both parties regarding Armenian infiltrator taken prisoner

^{“We are in contact with the concerned agencies of both parties regarding this issue,” head of Public relations department of the Azerbaijani representation of the International Red Cross Committee (IRCC) Ilaha Huseynova told APA in regard to the commander of the sabotage-reconnaissance group of the armed forces of Armenia, first lieutenant Gurgen Alaverdyan taken prisoner.}

^{"Based on its mandate, the International Red Cross Committee visits persons detained as a result of conflict, monitors attitude to those persons and conditions of their detention, as well as provides help in the maintenance of contact between those persons and their families," I. Huseynova noted.}

^{Note that according to the information disseminated by Azerbaijani Defence Ministry, on August 23 at about 05:45, the sabotage-reconnaissance group of the Armenian armed forces made an attempt to commit a provocation in the direction of the Goranboy district of the front.}

^{As a result of the resolute actions of the units of the Azerbaijan Army stationed in this direction, the enemy, suffering losses, was forced to retreat.}

^{During the battle, the commander of the Armenian sabotage group, First Lieutenant Gurgin Alberyan was taken prisoner.}
