“The victory in the April wars was the result of the economic development and army building policy carried out by President Ilham Aliyev”, said Minister of Defence General-Colonel Zakir Hasanov in his interview to “Gunun Nebzi” program of AzTV, ONA reports.
According to him, Armenian statehood collapsed as a result of April wars: “However, as a result of the April war, military experience and patriotic spirit of the Azerbaijani Army has increased. Recently, I have visited the front line military unit. There were 30 soldiers who serve their military service there. Imagine, 27 out of 30 soldiers stated their interest to continue their services after the finish of their military service period”.
Z.Hasanov noted that they have all the means to increase combat preparedness of the Army: “Our state is doing its best to keep combat readiness of the army. Today, “Azersilah”, which produces more than a thousand weapons, fully supplies the Azerbaijani Army with a weapon. We have no concern for the supply of weapons now and should not be in the future. Thus, we can start fighting at any time to liberate our lands from occupation."
