Last year Azerbaijan exported 11,6 bln. cubic metres of gas by increasing it 23% in comparison to the previous year, APA-Economics reports citing SOCAR.

SOCAR directs main part of natural gas produced by its own recourses to the demand of domestic market. The increase of export is related to the rise of production level in Shah Deniz gas and condensate field exploited by International Companies consortium.

According to the information, Azerbaijan exported natural gas to the markets of Turkey and Georgia in 2019. Totally 9,2 bln. cubic metres of gas was transferred to the Turkish market, as well as 2,8 bln. cubic metres of natural gas was transferred through TANAP and Southern Gas Corridor. So, the market share of Turkey constituted 79% of total gas export of Azerbaijan.
