Azerbaijan increases gas export by 18% via  South Caucasus Pipeline

In January-October of this year, 23 610 mln. cubic meters of gas transported via main gas pipelines in Azerbaijan and 7,3% increase was observed in comparison to the relevant period of the previous year, the State Statistics Committee told APA-Economics.

41,7% of gas was transported via Baku-Tbilisi-Arzurum South Caucasus Pipeline and 9 850,1 mln cubic meters of gas were transported (17,6% increase in comparison to January-October of the previous year).

Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline was constructed in order to transport gas to Georgia and Turkey extracted from Shah-Deniz field located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. The length of the pipeline is 980 km diameter is 42 inches.
