Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO), Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade has called on religious people to steer clear of religious discrimination during sermons and not to mention denomination names (chiefly Sunni and Shia) during Ramadan.

Speaking at a meeting dedicated to the coming of Ramadan, the CMO chairman stressed that in case the CMO receives information from the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations in this regard will take a measure against the cleric who goes against it, APA reported.

He noted that the Committee will deal with this matter jointly.

“Therefore, I forbid you from being divisive by mentioning denomination names during your sermons, especially in Ramadan. In case I receive information from the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations in this regard, an immediate action will be taken. We don’t have denominational differences and we won’t,” he added.
