Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stressed on his Telegram channel on Tuesday that Moscow has the right to use its nuclear arsenal in case another country threatens ''the very existence'' of Russia using any type of weaponry or in case any opponent attacks its territory or the territory of its allies by nuclear weapons, APA reports.

He further accused United Kingdom Prime Minister Liz Truss of being already ready to ''start an exchange of nuclear strikes'' with Kremlin despite her public statements or those of other Western politicians.

Medvedev also added Moscow would not allow Ukraine or any other neighbor hostile to Kremlin to obtain nuclear weapons, noting, however, he does not think NATO would use its nuclear arsenal in case of a possible nuclear attack by Moscow, as the security of the alliance, the European Union and London is much more important than the one of Ukraine.
