“We resolutely condemn transportation by Armenians of material and spiritual heritage, historic artifacts belonging to Azerbaijan, this shows once again barbarous nature of Armenians”, said first deputy minister of Culture, temporarily assuming the responsibilities of minister of Culture Anar Kerimov, APA reports.

He said every material and cultural monument belongs to Azerbaijan: “Because this is a value being on the territory of Azerbaijan. The illegal export of this property from Azerbaijan contradicts with norms of international law, at the same time is disrespect to human values. We resolutely condemn this. Appeals were made in this regard to international organizations especially UNESCO. This work will also be continued from now on. We think legal appraisal should be given to these actions by international community. Because the cultural heritage being in Azerbaijan irrespective of its origin whether Christian or Albanian heritage or Armenian heritage, is Azerbaijan’s property and its export from country is unlawful. As you know according to UNESCO convention of 1972 there is an intergovernmental committee dealing with implementation of provisions of the convention about illegal export of cultural property from country. We will also raise an issue at that committee from now on that legal appraisal should be given to this step of Armenians”.
