The State Service for the Protection, Development, and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture continues to monitor the historical and cultural monuments located in the liberated territories, APA reports citing the state service.

It was noted that the monitoring is carried out in accordance with Decree No. 1170 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated October 29, 2020, "On the organization of temporary special administration in the territories liberated from the occupation of the Republic of Azerbaijan."

During the preliminary monitoring conducted so far, 411 historical-cultural monuments under state registration were reviewed. Moreover, monitoring of 178 objects (newly discovered monuments) with historical, architectural, and archaeological signs located in those areas, which are not registered with the state, was conducted.

As a result of monitoring, it was revealed that the majority of the reviewed historical and cultural monuments and objects with historical, architectural, and archaeological features were completely destroyed by the invaders, leaving only their remains, interventions, and vandalism.

In accordance with instructions, the State Service, together with its employees and specialists, is ready to conduct monitoring of historical monuments located in all territories liberated from occupation, including the areas under the control of the temporary Russian peacekeeping forces.
