Samed Seyidov: "This decision once again proved that the judicial system of Azerbaijan covers the principles of international law"

"This decision once again proved that the judicial system of Azerbaijan covers the principles of international law," said Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Foreign Relations and Inter-Parliamentary Relations Samed Seyidov, commenting on the decisions of the plenum of the Supreme Court of April 23 on the termination of criminal cases on acquittal grounds in relation to the chairman of the Real Party Ilgar Mammadov and human rights activist Rasul Jafarov, APA reports.

He noted that this decision is clear evidence that pressure on Azerbaijan and its judicial, law enforcement system or politics as a whole, does not matter.

S. Samedov said that the decision "ties hands" to politicians, groups, and organizations that work against Azerbaijan and intervene in the politics of Azerbaijan, "skillfully" using this issue.

“They will no longer be able to use this issue as another chance,” S. Seidov emphasized.

The chairman of the committee added that the decision adopted on April 23 will also positively affect the activities of the Azerbaijani delegation to the CE.
