The agenda of the summit to be held on June 18 in a virtual format with the participation of heads of state and government of the Eastern Partnership countries has been announced, APA reports quoting the press service of the EU Council.

According to the press service of the EU Council, the summit, which will be held in a virtual format, will be attended by heads of state and government of the 27 member states of the bloc, as well as heads of state and government of the Eastern Partnership countries. EU Council President Charles Michel will chair the meeting. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell will also attend the virtual conference.

"The leaders will reaffirm the strategic importance of the Eastern Partnership. They will also emphasize the importance of solidarity during the COVID-19 crisis and the EU's strong support for reducing the impact of the epidemic in the Eastern Partnership countries. They will discuss their long-term political goals and the development of post-2020 results, which are expected to be confirmed at a summit in which leaders will meet face to face in early 2021, "the EU Council said in a statement.
