“Türkiye's position about Sweden's and Finland's membership to NATO is obvious... We have been saying from the first day that these countries should eliminate our concerns about terrorism," said Foreign Minister of Türkiye Mevlut Cavusoglu at joint press conference with his Hungarian counterpart Péter Szijjártó, APA reports.

Cavusoglu stressed that Turkish representatives will participate in the tripartite meeting to be held in March, but this meeting is not about the two countries membership in NATO: "Clearly, we can separate the accession process of Sweden and Finland. We told this to U.S. Secretary of State Blinken and NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg. We look positively at Finland's membership. We are not enemies with Sweden or Finland, we have no problems with these countries except for the mentioned issue. However, it is impossible for Sweden to become a member of NATO without fulfilling its obligations."
