Digital development serves to increase GDP, World Bank Regional Manager for Azerbaijan Sarah Michael said during GSMA M360 Eurasia international conference, APA-Economics reports.
"A 10% increase in the number of broadband Internet users leads to a 1.4-1.8% increase in GDP. The numbers show that there is a direct link between digitalization and economic growth. This also serves to increase economic well-being. Especially in remote regions, digital services lead to increased revenues. Increasing digital skills in Azerbaijan can increase the export of services to other countries," Sarah Michael said.
