World Bank: It is important for Azerbaijan to increase trade agreements with other countries

"It is important for Azerbaijan to increase the trade agreements with other countries," said Practice Manager in the Finance, Competitiveness, and Innovation Global Practice at the World Bank Group, Antonio Nucifora, during the discussion of "Azerbaijan: Economic Memorandum on the country" at the ADA University, APA-Economics reports.

"Azerbaijan is not a member of the World Trade Organization. Negotiations that started in 2004 are still ongoing. Azerbaijan can benefit from many advantages by becoming a member of the WTO. According to the rules, investments in the trade sector can be increased. It also creates opportunities for trade agreements. Azerbaijan has trade agreements with Turkiye, Ukraine and CIS countries. Increasing these agreements with other countries is very important," said Antonio Nucifora.
