Cristiano Ronaldo may not play for Portugal in the FIFA World Cup 2022 quarter-final match against Morocco. Portugal, which thrashed Switzerland 6-1 in their Round of 16 matches, did not include Ronaldo after coach Fernando Santos benched the player. The move was made after Santos learned about Ronaldo's fit after being called to the bench to be substituted.
Portugal started brightly without Ronaldo and annihilated the Swiss team in a game that resembled match practice. Ronaldo himself entered the field in the second half but did not add to his tally in this year's FIFA World Cup.
