“European Championship should be held in a country that successfully managed pandemic period,” said the former head coach of the Azerbaijani national team Berti Vogts while speaking about the future of EURO 2020, APA reports.

The 75-year-old specialist does not consider the organization of the continental championship as a successful step at a time when the coronavirus pandemic spread around the world. According to the German specialist, EURO- 2020 should be postponed again: “Noone got an accurate answer from UEFA regarding the future of the tournament. This surprises me. As a coach who worked in the national team, I appeal to UEFA: Postpone European Championship. Make your final decision now. Otherwise, then it will be too late. UEFA's decision to postpone the tournament to June is crazy. The race must be postponed until mid-December. I hope that by that time more fans will be allowed in the stands”.

Note that Berti Vogts coached the Azerbaijani national team in 2008-2014.
