"Minsk Group is no longer needed, but formal suspension of activity of the institution is a complex process and should be solved within the framework of the OSCE," said Farid Shafiyev, chairman of the Center for International Relations Analysis while his speech at the discussion, APA reports.

According to him, now the Minsk Group exists formally.

"The Minsk Group still formally exists. Its mandate was related to the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. However, the issue is not on an agenda for us anymore. If the Minsk Group wanted to remain in the process during the post-conflict period too, then it had to announce that it would deal with several issues on the agenda - humanitarian issues, mine threat, missing people in the First Karabakh War, etc. However, unfortunately, we did not see any step from the Minsk Group in this regard."
