Press secretary of Azerbaijani MFA responds to unfounded claims voiced by Armenian President against Azerbaijan

The head of the press service of Azerbaijani MFA Aykhan Hajizade has responded to unfounded claims voiced by Armenian President against Azerbaijan, APA reports.
Commenting on Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan’s next unfounded claims against Azerbaijan in his interview with Italy’s La Repubblica, Aykhan Hajizade said: “We firmly condemn the increasingly aggressive rhetoric against Azerbaijan in recent days. Such statements neglecting international efforts in the field of advancing the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia serve to deliberately escalate the situation in the region.
Both in the period of the occupation and the post-war period of 2020, the experience showed that before committing military provocations, the Armenian side carries out such a disinformation campaign to place the responsibility on Azerbaijani side.
The leadership of Armenia, which committed ethnic cleansing and massacres against Azerbaijanis for 30 years, occupied its territories for 30 years, and devastated cities and villages, is an example of fraud, accusing Azerbaijan of ethnic cleansing and war rhetoric.
In order to achieve peace in the region, Armenian leadership should refrain from aggressive rhetoric, and put an end to aggressive activities such as an attack on the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and interfering in its internal affairs.”
