The Investigative Department of the General Prosecutor's Office has initiated a criminal case and an investigation under Article 311.3.3 (receiving a bribe in a large amount) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, based on the reasonable suspicions that the official person received a large amount of bribe during the investigation conducted based on the information published in the media and the request received following the requirements of the criminal procedure legislation, APA reports citing the General Prosecutor's Office.
During the investigation, reasonable suspicions were established that Zeynalov Avaz Tapdıg oghlu, the CEO of "Khural Yayinlari" Limited Liability Company, received 20,000 manats as a bribe on August 2022, through the mediation of Sadigov Elchin Ali oghlu, the defender of Mammadov Rasim Hikmet oghlu, the former chairman of the supervisory board of Baku Steel Company, who is currently being prosecuted in the Baku Serious Crimes Court, not to spread offensive information and to prepare appropriate programs to create a positive image of Mammadov Rasim Hikmet oghlu.
According to the collected initial evidence, Avaz Zeynalov was charged as an accused person under article 311.3.3 of the Criminal code (helper in receiving a large amount of bribe) and Elcin Zeynalov under the article 32.5, 311.3.3, and they were charged with that article, and by the court's decision, preventive detention was chosen.
Necessary investigative-operational measures in the field of full, comprehensive, and objective investigation of all cases of legal importance in criminal cases are underway.
