The volume of the cargoes transported by sea transport in Azerbaijan during January-March, 2020 made up 1,499.0 thousand tons and decreased by 3% as compared with relevant period of the previous year, the State Statistics Committee told "APA-Economics".
During the reporting period, the transported oil products accounted for 36.3% of the total volume of the cargoes carried by sea transport.
The report says during January-March, the loading and unloading works in the amount of 2,362.2 thousand tons were implemented by sea ports, and the transit cargoes accounted for 2,253.4 thousand tons or 95.4% of volume of those works.
“As of April 1, 2020, the volume of the cargoes left in ports made up 59.4 thousand tons”, the report notes.
The number of passengers carried by this type of transport during the mentioned period was 4.9 thousand and increased by 25.6% as compared with relevant period of 2019.
